Cynthia M. Nixon
Ms. Nixon graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1992. She has over 15 years of experience caring for all types of critically ill patients in the intensive care setting. Her specialty is caring for patients with cardiac problems and those undergoing cardiac surgery. For over four years, she accepted travel nurse assignments with leading hospitals across the United States, in order to broaden her knowledge and experience in critical care nursing. She moved to Orlando in 1998 and worked at a local hospital until 2005.
Ms. Nixon’s hospital experience includes functioning as a staff nurse, relief charge nurse, nurse mentor, and preceptor. A love of education has compelled her to work as an adjunct faculty member in a local nursing program, providing clinical instruction to nursing students in the field of medical-surgical nursing since 2003.
Throughout her nursing career, Ms. Nixon has demanded the highest quality healthcare for her patients. She has shared the need for strong patient advocacy with her nursing colleagues and students. Her desire to advocate for patients and to provide compensation for those injured by neglect lead her to change career paths and join Florida Trial MD. She has been instrumental in managing the medical and nursing aspects of the personal injury and medical malpractice cases entrusted to our law firm.
Ms. Nixon is certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant through the AALNC and is certified as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and in the specialty of Cardiac Surgery through the AACN. She remains involved in nursing education and is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. Ms. Nixon is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Nursing.
