We continue to see the number of fatal motor vehicle accidents increasing. In fact, with more and more distractions and younger drivers on our roadways, one may see a steady increase in vehicular tragedies. We caution all of our clients, as we do our own families, to drive defensively at all times.

With serious, permanent injury and death in Altamonte Springs, Orlando, and throughout Central Florida, we believe our legislature should consider ways to do more. automobile, truck and other legislation has been considered over the years. Some states have again focused on the age of drivers and determined that allowing teenagers more time to mature may reduce the incidence of driving mishaps and fatalities. Other states have sought to pass laws which restrict text messaging while driving.

How sad for a family to lose a loved one, a father, a mother, a grand-father or grand-mother because someone was rushing to beat a red light. We have seen too many crashes occur for just that reason. Perhaps if individuals considered the extent of the harm that could result, safe driving would become more of a priority. Too many reckless drivers are selfishly focusing on their interests and not on the safety of others on the road.  At highway speed it takes but a moment to lose control of a vehicle – yet so many fail to recognize the potential consequences of their conduct.
